Caveland is nested in an old 18th century winery situated in the heart of Santorini island in a typical local village called Karterados. We are a 5 minutes drive or a 25 minute walk away from the beautiful and atmospheric capital of the island called Fira Town. In our village you will find well-preserved cave houses, grandmothers sitting in their yards and grandfathers riding their donkeys!

Our complex consists of 8 traditional caves, one historic apartment and numerous sea view terraces with a big pool area and gardens. We have a big communal kitchen that you can use for preparation of your own meals, bookshelves if you want to borrow a book, parking for your rented vehicle and a donation-based coffee corner. Breakfast, luggage storage and wireless internet is included. Check our notice board for weekly dinners, movie nights and yoga classes.

Check-in

To minimise the handling of the documents, your check in can be done online. Keep your eyes open for an email with instructions from us.

Payment

We will charge your card 24 hours in advance. If the payment does not go through, you will receive an email from us. In that case please have the exact amount of cash ready on arrival. All the guests need to have ready the refundable 10€ cash deposit. Again please have the exact amount with you.

Sanitizing

Antiseptic dispensers are for use in many places: at the reception, at the pool area, at the breakfast yard, and before the rooftop terrace. Sanitized room keys will be handed to you. Communal spaces and rooms are steam-cleaned on daily basis. 

Social distancing

Following the official guidelines and recommendations our furniture (outdoors and indoors) has been placed within safe distances. We will appreciate if you do not move them. No more than five people in communal indoor areas. No more than six people at once inside the swimming pool.

Our rooms

The number of beds per room has been reduced to 60% of the original room capacity allowing 24 hours sanitising time between check-ins. Please stick to your assigned bed. Rooms and bathrooms are cleaned daily. 
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR GROUPS AND FAMILIES: If you are a larger group but due to COVID related restrictions you do not find availability online, please email us so we allocate more beds in a dorm room for you.

Kitchen and food

The kitchen is not available for personal cooking. However there is a fridge in each bedroom that can be used, every arrival is assigned one shelf in the fridge, just follow the advice of our staff. You can purchase snacks and drinks on grab and go principle. Ask our reception about a wide range of food delivery options. Breakfast is served in portions.

Our pool

No more than six people at once are allowed inside the swimming pool. Please use the assigned loungers and follow the advice of our staff. Towels are available to rent, however, guests are advised to use their own as much as possible. 

Masks

We have released a special edition of reusable Caveland face masks. They are for sale at the reception. By buying one of our masks you are helping us to sustain our hostel in these challenging times.


OTHER THINGS TO NOTE BEFORE YOUR RESERVATION:

Our reception closes at 22.00. Any reservations made for the same night before 22.00 with a late night arrival will have an access to late night self check in. Any reservations made after 22.00 will be checked in only the next day.

Our Single Female Dorm, Four bed Female Dorm and Four Bed Female Dorm En suite are girls only rooms. If you are not a girl and make a reservation for that room we will automatically cancel your reservation.

Payments, such as the web deposit, are not refundable.

If you reserved your beds under free cancellation policy, you can cancel 3 days and more before your scheduled arrival, the cancellation has to be done through the booking engine you used for making your reservation.
